In simple terms, to love God is to have faith in his son Jesus Christ, through whom he has both saved and reconciled the world to himself. - 1 John 5:1

Kindly note that to have "faith in the gospel" is to have a sense of confidence or trust in it's message. That is, to truly believe that God did what He claims He did and you are who He claims you to be based on that.

It's is from the understanding of God's love that we are also able to truly love the brotherhood of believers in the same manner he has loved us.
