Whether you learned about Student Energy for the first time this year, joined us as a partner or a program participant, or cheered us on through social media, your support allows us to continue making an impact. Here are some of the things we accomplished this year:<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>We grew our network to<strong>\u00a047 chapters in 22 countries<\/strong>, who engaged over 16,000 youth in 2020.<\/li>\n<li>We launched the first Leaders Fellowship cohort in January, and ended the year with 47 global teams completing their 10-month program. We\u2019re set for an even bigger year in 2021, as we bring in <strong>90+ teams\u00a0<\/strong>for the second cohort in response to overwhelming demand for the program.<\/li>\n<li>The<a href=\"https:\/\/studentenergy.questionpro.ca\/t\/AB3uoGHZB3urqT\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\" data-saferedirecturl=\"https:\/\/www.google.com\/url?q=https:\/\/studentenergy.questionpro.ca\/t\/AB3uoGHZB3urqT&amp;source=gmail&amp;ust=1616194340698000&amp;usg=AFQjCNGynzvY-qpByh26Zx7zzPlTH0WR3Q\">\u00a0Global Youth Outlook survey<\/a>\u00a0is now available in\u00a0<strong>eight languages<\/strong>, and we are working with a global youth team of Regional Coordinators to reach 50,000 young people in the lead-up to COP26.<\/li>\n<li>Our Energy System Map and video users skyrocketed this year, reaching a total of\u00a0<strong>10 Million+ users<\/strong>, with<strong>\u00a02.5 million<\/strong>\u00a0of those just in 2020, as more students and educators turned to digital energy learning resources. This year, we launched the\u00a0 new Energy System Map at\u00a0\u00a0<a href=\"http:\/\/www.studentenergy.org\/map\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\" data-saferedirecturl=\"https:\/\/www.google.com\/url?q=http:\/\/www.studentenergy.org\/map&amp;source=gmail&amp;ust=1616194340698000&amp;usg=AFQjCNHfkP8Y5IfYvNaCNIfsl4Htq0-GQw\"><u>www.studentenergy.org<\/u><\/a>, featuring the new \u201cInfluences\u201d layer, to help young people understand how to change the energy system.<\/li>\n<li>We provided <strong>$120,000 in funding directly to young people\u00a0<\/strong>to support them with honorariums and awards to help them take\u00a0 action on energy, and are working on an even more ambitious direct-to-youth funding strategy for 2021.<\/li>\n<li dir=\"ltr\">To date Student Energy has now<strong>\u00a0partnered with 90 organizations\u00a0<\/strong>to<strong>\u00a0<\/strong>make\u00a0<a href=\"https:\/\/studentenergy.org\/space-for-youth\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\" data-saferedirecturl=\"https:\/\/www.google.com\/url?q=https:\/\/studentenergy.org\/space-for-youth&amp;source=gmail&amp;ust=1616194340698000&amp;usg=AFQjCNF7FBgDlAO-xd2R9Qngt26P_-PKbw\">space for youth<\/a>, we\u2019ve developed new models for intergenerational collaboration that will continue to expand through 2021.<\/li>\n<li dir=\"ltr\">Student Energy\u2019s team grew from\u00a0<strong>9 to 25 staff members<\/strong><\/li>\n<li>As a youth-led organization, we are excited to see that youth leadership for bold, just climate action is being\u00a0<a href=\"https:\/\/www.scoop.co.nz\/stories\/WO2012\/S00184\/un-sec-gens-youth-climate-advisors-urge-green-jobs-led-covid-19-recovery-warn-against-greenwashing-polluter-bail-outs.htm\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\" data-saferedirecturl=\"https:\/\/www.google.com\/url?q=https:\/\/www.scoop.co.nz\/stories\/WO2012\/S00184\/un-sec-gens-youth-climate-advisors-urge-green-jobs-led-covid-19-recovery-warn-against-greenwashing-polluter-bail-outs.htm&amp;source=gmail&amp;ust=1616194340698000&amp;usg=AFQjCNGRyAtTxBpeLOQQoLtQipnOTu5DVQ\">recognized<\/a>\u00a0<a href=\"https:\/\/time.com\/5916293\/mock-cop26-youth-climate-activists\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\" data-saferedirecturl=\"https:\/\/www.google.com\/url?q=https:\/\/time.com\/5916293\/mock-cop26-youth-climate-activists\/&amp;source=gmail&amp;ust=1616194340698000&amp;usg=AFQjCNH1SDUa-2ynUjbLdeUJbdwz3PjJwQ\">more<\/a>\u00a0often on the global stage. We are hopeful for this recognition to grow into more meaningful support and resources for youth-led climate and energy solutions in 2021.
